Summer Reading Program

The Mansfield Sunrise Rotary Club arranged with Half Price Books for the donation of 4,000 books to be used in the 2012 Community Summer Reading Program.  The program is a cooperation between Common Ground, the Mansfield Public Library, the Mansfield community and the Sunrise Rotary Club.  Books are also be donated throughout the community.   The program is designed to get books into the hands of students who may not otherwise have access to them during the summer months. They will be distributed with the Feed the Children summer lunch program.  The books will be age/reading level appropriate for the students and each student  will be allowed to take as many books as he/she will read.  The public library is working with the individual schools to reward the students' summer reading efforts when classes resume in the fall.  Sunrise Rotary is excited and proud to be a part of this program and salutes the community for its efforts to improve literacy among our citizens.
